There are a number of significant art pieces in the world. The Mona Lisa, by Italian artist Leonardo da Vinci, is undisputedly the most famous painting among them. The Mona Lisa painting supposedly depicts the spouse of a Florentine trader, Francesco di Bartolomeo del Giocondo, smiling softly. Today, the image holds a reputation for evolving portrait painting for artists. It currently sits in the Louvre museum in Paris.

The Birth of Venus is another famous painting by Sandro Botticelli. It is a painting about Venus, the goddess of love and beauty, on land, ascending from a shell, with a young woman by her side, holding a shawl of flowers. The painting being on a canvas, which was not usual in the 14th century, and its representation of humanistic and divine principles contribute to its significant status.

Lastly, the Last Supper, painted by Leonardo da Vinci, is among the most famous art pieces in the world. It is a vast painting spanning 181.102 inches in height and 346.457 inches in width. The Last Supper painting shows the biblical story of Jesus eating with his disciples on a long table and informing them of a betrayal from one of them before his crucifixion. The painting reportedly took three years for Leonardo da Vinci to complete.
